Tornadoes Claim Basketball Championship With 52-47 Win
The Tornadoes defeated the Wolverines 52-47 on Saturday night at the Sports Center, claiming the 2013 Pensacola Christian College Collegian Basketball Championship. Several hours prior to the basketball championship, the Tornadoes also won the Flag Football Championship, making them poised to win "Collegian of the Year" honors.
In the final period with the score tied, the Tornadoes pulled ahead, 49-47. Down by two with 0:56 left on the game clock, the Wolverines started fouling in an attempt to regain possession. Undaunted, the Tornadoes converted several late-game free throws on their way to sealing the 52–47 victory.
Ryan King (No. 14) led the Tornadoes with a game-high 17 points.
