Shedding Some Light on the Backstage

Dramatic Productions (DP) here on campus has lit up the Experimental Theatre with many masterpieces over the years. Both students and visitors alike will not forget splitting their sides with laughter as the American tourists from Innocents Abroad (by Mark Twain) feign boredom with their ecstatic Italian tour guide, or they may recall choking up a little in the audience when the awful Herdman kids from The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (by Barbara Robinson) learn the reach of Christ’s love toward sinners as they bombard a local church’s Christmas Pageant.

Dramatic Production performances are always an anticipated event! Now you may wonder, so what? That’s old news for those of you who have attended over the years. What you may not know, however, is that the show is actually a class taken by all Performance Studies majors at Pensacola Christian College! They are responsible to assemble the script, cast the show, construct the set, get props on the stage and costumes on the actors, and make sure lights and sound run smoothly. If you're thinking about majoring in PCC's Performance Studies program, you will have this opportunity as well!

Even now, a team is working on the upcoming spring production, “Tell me a Fantastic Story," featuring dramatic pieces from Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, and more! The performances will be brought to stage this weekend, beginning tonight at 8 pm. Whether student or guest, if you would like to buy tickets, arrive early to purchase one at the door! They will be showing all weekend, including tomorrow at 8 pm and Saturday at 2:30 and 8 pm. Come and enjoy this year’s fantastic production!
