Things to Do

What’s Next?

So you’re settled! You’re studying with your new friends, exploring the Sports Center, and maybe playing for your collegian sports. “What’s next?” you ask.

Well, I could bore you with pages of events, activities, performances, meals, and everything else that would probably be overwhelming! Instead of that, let me draw your attention to one night a year that I’m always ready for: Eagle Mania.

Eagle Mania (this Friday, October 13) is easily one of my favorite events. I don’t even know how to explain it without emojis! Let me tell you what you can expect if you go:

1.) Expect loud noises.

This is one of my favorite things about Eagle Mania! You can just touch the excitement in the air as the pep band music blares team fight songs and the students are yelling and beating the chairs. The sounds of all the students chanting in unison give me goosebumps (the good kind).

2.) Expect an awesome atmosphere.

When you watch the floor show (no, I mean it’s literally projected onto the floor), the cameras everywhere, and the reveal videos for the teams, you can see the college really flexing its muscle and doing the best it can with its media. Combine all that with the pep band, drum-line, and the theme music? It’s pretty great.

3.) Expect to get involved!

Play the halftime games, chant and cheer with the crowds, tap your card for Eagle Rewards, get a set of noisemakers, and just melt into the crowd!

Of course, these aren’t the only reasons to go to Eagle Mania, but they’re my reasons. Maybe you can relate to these reasons. Maybe you know an Eagles player, or you’re working with student activities! Whatever the reason, I hope to see you there!
