Let’s Look at an Example

I was talking to my roommate, and she mentioned to me how cool it was when we see our teachers serving in church. This got me thinking--the occupation of teaching is  a ministry, but what do they do when the week is over?

I have two former teachers of mine that sing in a Campus Church ensemble. There are teachers that lead student Sunday school. There are teachers that give chapel messages. I realized something: they don’t just teach academic subjects by showing us problems on a board or displaying a Power Point, but they also teach us spiritual leadership by being living examples. In Titus 2:7-8, Paul instructs Titus how to be a godly leader:

In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

Having our teachers as spiritual examples is a privilege that not many people get to enjoy. So let’s look at an example, our teachers, of living your life for others and for God.
