Cancel the Countdown
100, 99, 98, 97…
It seems as though my life runs on a constant countdown. I count down till college starts again so I can see my friends, then I count down till the day I get to go home and be with my family.
I forget so easily to enjoy the moment and just enjoy the people there. At college, I text my family. At home, I text my college friends. I mean, it’s not bad to keep in touch with everyone, but sometimes I pay more attention to the people everywhere else than right in front of me.
Yes, I am looking forward to going to Common Grounds with my friends once I get back, but I need to be sure to be fully present with the people around me while I am home.
Take time to enjoy the people who are around you. Don’t just be counting down to the next exciting event to come. Make this moment a meaningful one.
