The Most Exciting Time of the Year
What is the most exciting part of the semester here at PCC? That first week of getting back after summer break? Or maybe when you hit midterms and realize you're already halfway through the semester? For some people, it's the first beach trip of the semester. Or maybe it's when you turn in that last project of the semester. But the absolute, MOST exciting time of the year is . . .well, I couldn't tell you. For me, every point of the semester brings with it something new to look forward to.
However, I can confidently say that this is definitely on my list of the most exciting times of the semester. Projects are turned in, pre-registration for next semester is complete, the Christmas lights on campus are up, and all that stands between me and the end of the semester is just a handful of days and a few little finals.
There's something to be said for completing a semester. Not only to complete a semester, but to be able to look back and know that you did your best, even at the very end, is one of the most satisfying feelings I've experienced yet. That feeling, I believe, is what makes this one of the most exciting times of the year.
So, as everything starts to get crazy around you with finals and packing and cleaning and everything else, keep striving to do your best, knowing that, as Proverbs 13:19 says, "The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul." But, in the midst of everything going on, don't forget to enjoy the end of the semester, and make this time one of your own most exciting times of the year.
