Making Memories

It is said that during your college years, you will make memories that will last a lifetime.  I have found this to be true from personal experience.  My mom and dad still tell stories of the different friends they had and activities they participated in when they were in college.  I have heard some of them so many times that I could probably quote them; but no matter how many times I have heard them, they still make me laugh.  Here are a few tips about making great memories during your college years here at PCC.

Get involved
PCC offers a wide variety of activities to get involved in.  For those of you who enjoy music, there are several music groups such as Symphonic Band, Spirit Singers, and Symphonic Orchestra. If you enjoy sports, get involved by playing collegian sports. Whether you are playing or watching, collegian sports are always fun. Besides sports and music, you can get involved by working in the children’s ministries at the Campus Church, going on Christian Service, or volunteering for your collegian’s service project.  The more things you are involved in, the more memories you will make.

Make friends—many friends!
One of my favorite parts of college life has been meeting new people who have quickly become my friends.  Whether at work, in class, or in your residence hall room, you will have many opportunities to meet people here at PCC.  Take advantage of these opportunities and try to make friends with everyone you meet. Even if you do not remember their name, your smiling face can be an encouragement to them, and they can be an encouragement to you.  The friends you have will impact the memories you make.

Keep track
During your college years, you will want to remember not only all of the funny moments with friends, but also all of the spiritual decisions that you make. Spiritual lessons are the most important ones you will learn at PCC. I suggest that you write down things that God shows you. This will not only help you make memories, but will also encourage you on those high-stress days. You can go back and read how God has helped you so many times before and be confident that He will do it again.

The memories you make here at PCC will be with you long after you’ve forgotten all of those facts. Memories with friends and of different activities are what you will think of when you one day look back on your college years. I hope that these tips will help you make wonderful memories at PCC that will last a lifetime.
