Academics Growth Things to Do

The College Bucket List

“So, Marissa, what’s on your bucket list?” a friend asked me one day.

I laughed.  “I don’t do bucket lists.  They’re overrated.”

“Well, then, is there anything you’ve always wanted to do here at the college?”

I paused.  Now that my friend mentioned it, I remembered one big thing that I want to do here before I graduate.

“Jaffé Strings.” I wanted to learn the violin.  “I heard there’s a group instruction class for it.”

Fast forward to this semester—I’m taking Strings Instruction I and playing my dream instrument.  Hopefully, I will be able to complete my training in the two-year strings program and play in this year’s Stringspiration—a special service in the spring where all Jaffé Strings students perform together as an orchestra.

Do you have a college bucket list?  Is it learning a new instrument, being in a play, or sailing and kayaking at West Campus?  Pensacola Christian College offers a wide variety of opportunities both in and out of the classroom.  If time and space in your major allow, seize the opportunity and try something new.  From our sailing and kayaking classes to our Dramatic Productions and Fine Arts Series, students can try new things and make lasting memories outside of core classes.  Being open to new things can certainly take you places that you’ve never imagined!

Don’t let the opportunity slip away.  Write that college bucket list and see what new skills and talents you’ll walk away with on graduation day!
