College Life Future Students

Graduate Debt Free

What if I told you that you could graduate from college with little to no debt?  At Pensacola Christian College, graduating debt free is a reality for many students.  If you are considering attending PCC, let me strongly encourage you to investigate the Work Assistance Program.

What is Work Assistance?  Work Assistance is designed to help college students supplement and pay for their college tuition.  The jobs on campus vary and can include areas such as food service, maintenance, stage crew, residence assistants, and many others.

The neat thing about Pensacola Christian College is the unique system of student workers.  The college students of PCC are literally the heartbeat of everything that goes on.  They are involved in nearly everything on campus.  The benefits of working on campus are many:

  • You have the privilege to work among Christians in a Christian environment.  I cannot emphasize enough how nice it is to go to work and not have to worry about having one’s Christian values attacked or ridiculed.
  • Working on campus is especially useful if you do not have a car.  Being able to work on campus negates the normal costs of transportation: car payment, gas, and insurance, to name a few.
  • The jobs can carry over into the summer!  If you are in need of a summer job, PCC offers summer work (and room and board) to help you work through your college career.

When I arrived three years ago, I applied for work assistance.  I was assigned to the video department, and I have done so much fun and engaging work ever since.  I’ve been able to run sound systems for chapel, church, Fine Arts, Greek Rush, and much more.  The cool thing about my job—and all jobs at PCC—is the fact that it is a ministry.  By working on campus, you are part of the ministry—the ministry of everything that goes on!

I have personally benefited from my experience in the Work Assistance Program at Pensacola Christian College.  Through it, I have gained valuable training, insight, and experience that has helped me develop a stronger work ethic.  I consider it to be a valuable “feather in my cap,” but most importantly, it has helped me pay my bills!

So if you are considering attending Pensacola Christian College (or perhaps you are already attending), I encourage you to check out the Work Assistance Program.  Finances are a concern for everyone—especially in these troubling economic times—but PCC can help! Plus, it truly is an ideal place to work and learn, all in one!
