Fun Times Ahead
Making new friends is one of the best parts of college life. At PCC, you will meet people that you will probably keep in touch with for the rest of your life. One of the best places to get to know different people is in your collegian.
At the beginning of each school year, we have what we call Greek Rush, where each collegian sets up a booth so that new freshmen can see what the different collegians are like before joining one. Collegian members are at their booths ready to talk to freshmen and get them interested in joining their collegian.
Each collegian meets about once a month. A collegian meeting usually consists of a devotional time, games, and sports announcements. Collegian meetings are fun because you get to know people other than the ones that you usually do things with.
Some ways to get to know the people in your collegian are through collegian sports, service projects, and collegian outings. Each collegian has several different sports teams. If you play sports, you will quickly make friends with the people on your team. Even if you are not on the team, it is fun to watch your collegian play and cheer them on.
Participating in your collegian’s service project not only will help you meet different people in your collegian, but also will give you a chance to help others. One of the most fun things that you will get to do with your collegian is plan an outing. Your collegian outing is a time when the members of your collegian can go off campus and do something together. It is a time to relax and take a little break from school work.
Getting to know the people in your collegian will be one of the highlights of your time at PCC.
Freshmen, I hope that you have a fun time at Greek Rush and enjoy visiting all of the different collegians’ booths. There are many collegians, so I am sure that you will find one that interests you. Get involved in your collegian, and have fun getting to know the people in it!
