Take Me Out to the Ballgame
WE WANT A SINGLE JUST A LITTLE SINGLE S-I-N-G-L-E SINGLE SINGLE SINGLE!!
If you have ever been to my collegian’s softball game (WARHAWKS!) or any collegian softball game for that matter, you may have heard this cheer or a cheer similar to it. Since collegian softball is the last sport of the school year, it tends to be a big deal.
I tend to be very loud at softball games, whether it be cheering for my own team or cheering for other friends’ teams (hint, hint—STINGRAYS!). Fact is, sports are awesome. It is such an encouragement to see all of these people come together and just play a sport they enjoy.
Our collegian softball team has had its victory and defeats, but never once throughout a game did those girls lose their spirit and ambition.
After one of our games, some of the team members went out for some ice cream. Not only is it a huge blessing to play with these girls, but it is also a huge blessing to be able to fellowship with them off the field. A big part of playing on a team is getting to really know the people you are playing with, and I am honored to say that I got to know these girls on a whole new level personally and spiritually.
So if any of you are looking for something to do this weekend, come out to the softball championship games and just cheer some people on! Nothing makes the players do their best more than having people chanting their name and clapping for them as they slide to home base!
