Academics Future Students

Oh, Yes, the Joy of Classes!

Ok, so if you're like me, you might have taken one look at your stack of class course outlines for this semester, inhaled deeply, and then thought, "What have I gotten myself into?" Yeah, I know that feeling. Nooot fun. And even if it's not your classes themselves that look difficult, you may also have a job, and then there's a plethora of extracurricular activities out there that, no matter how fun, can bog you down and make you long for May.

That first paragraph made you feel great, right? Don't you feel like you have purpose in getting up in the morning now? I'm sure that your first words tomorrow are going to be: "Hello world! Yay! Classes! Fun! Woo!" Yeah...sure... Joking aside, I think we all realize that college life isn't easy. It's challenging. But if you think about it, that's the point. We need to push ourselves, otherwise we won't grow.

Let me put it this way—exercise. It normally isn't an enjoyable thing; it's sweat, sore muscles, and exhaustion. But the rewards are worth the effort put into it (or so I've heard; I'm not exactly what one would call "built." Anyway, moving on...)

College is a lot like like exercise—it takes effort. The whole point is to learn, and learning takes study. So is it easy? Haha, no. But is it worth the effort? Absolutely. As Pastor Shakour said during the opening meetings, "Just keep on keeping on; don't quit, God can bring you through."

So this semester, strive to to make it your best yet, even if it may be you're hardest. It'll be worth it!
