Things to Do

Peanuts and Crackerjacks

Ever see those negative-space drawings that represent two different pictures depending on the way you look at it? Boy, those were best! An hourglass begins to look like a pair of twins, and an upside down frog on a lily pad becomes an old lady with a beard.

Ok, I’ll show you a few pictures and you think about what you see. Feel free to turn to your roommate or the random guy at the café table next to you and see what they think as well.

So what did you see? PCC's annual Bible Conference picnic, right? If you’ve visited PCCinfo.com, maybe you even knew that the theme was “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” this year.

But that’s not the complete picture I see!

Amidst the friends tossing Frisbees, the jalapeño nachos, the music, and the games at this year's picnic, I saw a ton of hard work! The huge wooden cut-outs of baseball bats and team flags? I’ve been walking past them in PCC's workshop for months as they’ve been carved, painted, and finished. I’ve been through our Visual and Performing Arts building with the familiar notes floating after me as the Spirit Singers practiced the songs that they treated us to all afternoon over the loudspeakers. I have many friends who work with catering on campus and have heard how they worked extra hours filling wooden buckets with peanuts, cracker jacks, and ice-cold sodas.

Thanks to many extra hands 'pitching' in (quite literally), "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" was another smashing success for this year's annual Bible Conference at PCC!
