PCC’s Scarlet Pimpernel
"You seek him here, you seek him there, you students seek him everywhere. If you should see him, then do give a yell: PCC's own Scarlet Pimpernel..."
Have you seen him? Do you know who he is? Well, you can find out! Many of you may be familiar with Baroness Emmuska Orczy's novel The Scarlet Pimpernel, based on a time of purging the aristocracy during the French Revolution. Now PCC brings that tragic, endearing story of battles and guillotines, of mystery and unrelenting love, to life on stage!
I have been privileged to be a part of the show, along with a great cast of students and graduates and our own outstanding director, Mr. Webb, who is currently working toward his M.A. in Dramatics. We have been rehearsing for about a month and a half, in a flurry of dresses and wigs and sword-fighting workshops, to carefully shape and develop each character and to make this intriguing story the very best that it can be.
If you come to see the show (and you should) and think we all look as if we're having the time of our lives together on stage...it's only because we are. It's been a joy to be part of this production--I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it--and we're excited to present Mr. Webb's hard work and our own illustrious Scarlet Pimpernel to PCC this Saturday! It will be performed at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 3rd, on the stage behind the Crowne Centre through the North Lobby entrance. It is free of charge--just bring yourselves and your friends and enjoy!
