The Path of Life

Howdy! Kristen here, and if you can’t already tell, the great state of Texas is my home! I’m coming up on my last year here at Pensacola Christian College, studying the best major there is—Commercial Writing!

After being here these years, I can look back and see God’s hand on my life. As a potential student you may say, “I just don’t know what to do with my life.” Let me tell you that the best thing you could do as a Christian would be to give your life to the Lord! I am a living testimony to that!

As a senior in high school, the Lord called me to come to Pensacola Christian College. At first, I dreaded the thought of it. My sister was already attending, and I wanted to do something totally different. I wanted to do my own thing, I guess you could say. But, I finally surrendered to come.

Psalm 16:11 says, “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy, at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore.”

The Lord laid out the map of my life and said, “Here, Kristen. This is your first stop. Pensacola Christian College. I want you to go there, and I want you to major in Commercial Writing.”

“Ok, God. I’ll go.” I went, a little timid at first and definitely unsure of what I was doing. But God took care of me.

During each day, each week, each month, each year, He has been right by my side, watching over me and telling me which turn to take next. Sometimes, when I get off track, He’ll get out my map again and show me. “No, Kristen. I don’t want you to go here. I want you to go there.”

This summer is living proof of His direction in my life. For weeks, I had no idea what I would be doing this summer. Would I be completing my writing internship? Staying to work at PCC? Going home? I had no idea. For a while, I thought I would be doing my internship. But God closed the doors and allowed me to stay here at PCC. I have a job that I love, new friends I enjoy, and the peace that I am in the right place.

As I follow my path of life that God maps out for me each day, I see His hand working in marvelous ways as He opens and shuts doors, answers prayers, leads, guides, and directs.

I couldn’t ask for anything more.
