Eagles Soar, Clearwater Next!

The Eagles continued their stellar play this weekend with a 63-43 victory over Trinity Baptist College. The victory extended the Eagles’ winning streak to seven and their overall record to 18-8.

The team has enjoyed an incredible season under the leadership of head coach Mark Goetsch. Coach Goetsch, a favorite chapel speaker among the students, has his team playing like a well-oiled machine.

Nate Meyers led the Eagles in scoring with 12 points, while Adam Pahlsson also hit double digits (10). Brent Stickles provided tenacious defense while joining Tyler Scott with a busy day at the boards, both players combining for 9 rebounds. Matt Goetsch was hot beyond the arc, sinking two three-pointers in quick succession. Xavier Skinner ended any chance of a Trinity comeback when he slammed home a two-handed dunk to the frenzy of roaring Eagles fans.

On the season, coach’s sons Matt and Mike Goetsch lead the team in scoring with 284 and 264 points respectively. Brooks Lindblad added to his ridiculous assist count, which now totals at 104. Center Jon Andrews’s return from injury has made a noticeable impact: the big man was a force in the paint, blocking shots, nabbing 7 rebounds, and making opponents think twice before shooting over his 6’9’’ frame.

Most importantly, the Eagles are playing as a cohesive team—and it shows on the court. They never miss a beat, and they always show up on game day ready to play. The team looks focused, determined, and hungry to win.

They will need all of that determination—and then some—when they host PCC’s longstanding rival: Clearwater Christian College. The Clearwater game, undoubtedly the biggest game of the year, will be held in the the Sports Center Arena this Saturday at 7:30 P.M.

Come cheer on your Eagles; they need your support! See you there!

Oh—and don’t forget to wear white.
