Things to Do

Gobble Wobble

Gobble Wobble. Wobbledy Gobbledy. Gabobble.

Translation: Thousands of students. Two collegians. One bird.

You’ve heard about it. You’ve waited for it. You may have even competed for it. And now it’s finally here.

The Turkey Bowl.

This is the once-a-year event where the top two collegian soccer teams of the college compete for the coveted title of this year’s soccer champions. For the past three years, the Sharks and the Hornets hustled competitively for the title, but this year the Sharks will be taking on the Stingrays.

Now I definitely enjoy a good soccer game, but I just have to say I’m a huge fan of the pre-game events. All kinds of activities take place before the game. My freshman year (one of the greatest gifts of being a senior is being able to reminisce), one of the teams entered the field in an extended hummer, while the other arrived in a helicopter. Several sky divers parachuted onto the field as well (minus the one that made it directly into a nearby tree). Last year, the Sharks arrived on the field in a monster truck.

Don’t miss out! Bring your family if they’ll be here to visit. Cheer for your friends!

Gobble gobble!
