College Life

Midterms ended… Now what?

After a busy first half of the semester and midterm examinations, I was ready for a little break. God knew that I not only needed a break from classes but needed spiritual refreshment as well. What better way to do that than to have a Bible Conference! This year’s Bible Conference was absolutely amazing! We had 5 men of God preach a total of 11 sermons over the course of 3 days. Talk about some spiritual food! It was just what God knew I needed.

One of the biggest challenges to me was hearing Dr. Raymond Barber, who has been in the ministry for over 60 years, quote chapters of scripture by memory. Dr. Clyde Box preached from Mark 4:35–41 about getting to the back of the boat where Jesus is. I needed to hear that. Jesus is always with us, and He can calm any storm in our lives if we will get to the back of the boat.

I wish I had time to talk about all of the speakers in detail, but this post would be way too long. The other speakers were Dr. Scott Tewell, Dr. Jerald Manley, and Dr. Joel Mullenix.

There was also a play on Friday afternoon. The play this year was John Milton’s Paradise Lost. I had the amazing opportunity to be part of this production. Mr. Abran Miller was the director, and it was about the fall of man in the Garden of Eden.

It was such a blessing to see what Jesus Christ has done for us and to be reminded of how Satan is a defeated foe. I feel very humbled to have had a part in this great production. The cast was great to work with, and I believe the Lord was glorified through drama once again at PCC.

If you love God and love drama like I do, I can think of no better place for you to come than Pensacola Christian College where Jesus Christ is lifted high above all else. It is such a blessing to be here!
